Alexander Scally

Production Manager

Alex Scally, GMT's Production Manager and overall swell guy.

Hi, it’s Alexander Scally! As you can see from above, I’m the angriest Production Manager of Glass Mind Theatre. Actually, that photo’s from our Sept 2011 production, Den Of Thieves, where I played Little Tuna, the sweetest mobster in town.

As a founding member, I’ve been fortunate to take on an array of characters, ranging from polar bear to crooked preacher, in GMT’s Antarctica and Brainstorm Vol. 2: Baltimore Mixtape. I have also had the pleasure of directing the inaugural Brainstorm Vol.1 and the Craigslist-inspired Please Flag With Care.

Since graduating from UMBC’s BFA Acting program in 2009, I’ve made it a mission to expand as an artist through collaboration and creation. This has materialized through many venues, including a slam poetry performance with Brooklyn-based theatre Tenement Street Workshop,  which inspired our burgeoning DIY-Baltimore artist web series, The Looking Glass, where I serve as co-producer and host. The video below is myself and visual artist Amanda Boutwell doing some awesome abstract painting, a hobby of mine (when time allows).

My biggest influences in theatre are education and the active imagination, something that I’ve kept sharp with a stint as a facilitator with Center Stage’s Encounter group for high schoolers and, accompanied by Associate Artistic Director Sarah Gorman, Head Counselor for grades 1-5 with Onstage Drama Camp.
